In Dead by Daylight, Freddy Krueger, also known as The Nightmare, is a terrifying Killer who draws Survivors into his Dream World, where they face his unique abilities without the usual warning signs. With traps, illusions, and teleportation, Freddy keeps survivors on edge throughout the game. To make the most out of him, let’s go over the best Freddy builds.
Freddy Best Non-Teachable Build 2024
This setup is perfect for beginner players as it is straightforward to use and highly efficient. It involves using perks that either Freddy Krueger already owns or are commonly available for all killers, which make survivors’ injuries slower to heal and force awful punishments when they do. Additionally, it makes survivors’ late game a living hell when they attempt to leave through the exit gates.
- Remember Me (The Nightmare) –Gain 1 token for every health state your Obsession loses, up to a maximum of 4. Each token increases the exit gate opening time by 6 seconds, up to a maximum of 24 seconds. The Obsession isn’t impacted by Remember Me.
- Sloppy Butcher (General Perk) –Basic attack wounds cause Survivors to suffer fromHemorrhage and Mangled status effects. Increases the rate at which healing progression is lost due to hemorrhage by 25%. Both status effects are removed once the Survivor has fully healed.
- Hex: No One Escapes Death (General Perk) –Once the exit gates are activated, this Hex is applied to any remaining Dull Totems on the map. When this Hex is active, Survivors suffer fromthe Exposed status effect. Your movement speed isincreased by 4%. Once the Hex’s effect is revealed to the Survivors, the Hex Totem’s aura is visible to them at a distance of 4 meters. This range gradually increases over the next 30 seconds to 24 meters. The Hex effects last as long as the connected Hex Totem is standing.
- Blood Warden (The Nightmare) –When an exit gate is opened, Blood Warden is activated. You are shown the auras of any Survivors located in Exit areas. Hooking a Survivor while Blood Warden is active causes The Entity to block all Survivors’ exits for 60 seconds.
Best Freddy Build 2024
Freddy has numerous build options and the efficiency of these options depends on the skill level of your opponents. For a simple yet effective build, I would suggest bringing three slow-down perks and one tracking perk.
- Surge (The Demogorgon) –Using a basic attack to put a Survivor in the dying state causes all generators within a 32-meter radius to explode and begin regressing. Generators affected by Surge immediately lose 8% of their progress.
- Pop Goes the Weasel (The Clown) –Hooking a Survivor causes the next generator you damage to lose 30% of its current progress. Normal generator regression occurs after the Damage Generator action. Pop Goes the Weasel remains active for 45 seconds after the Survivor is hooked.
- Eruption (The Nemesis) –After damaging a generator, its aura will show inyellow. When a Survivor enters the dying state, every affected generator explodes, removing 10% of progress and beginning to regress.
- If a generator explodes while a Survivor is repairing it, they will scream and reveal their aura for 12 seconds.
- Thrilling Tremors (The Ghost Face) –After picking up a Survivor, The Entity blocks all Generators that aren’t being repaired by Survivors for the next 16 seconds, preventing repairs. A white aura appears around affected generators.
Freddy Skill-Checks Build
Another strong idea for Freddy’s build is the Skill Check build. You can bring add-ons such as theRed Paint Brushand one of the three add-ons that increase the penalty for survivors missing a skill check, like theBlue Dress. With these add-ons, the build can be much more efficient.
- Corrupt Intervention (The Plague) –The Entity blocks the 3 generators furthest from you for 120 seconds at the start of the trial. Survivors are unable to repair these generators for the duration. A white aura appears around affected generators.
- Hex: Huntress Lullaby (The Huntress) –When survivors fail a Skill Check while healing or repairing, they receive a 6% regression penalty.
- Huntress Lullaby’s power grows with each hooked Survivor. It affects healing and repair. 1 to 4 Tokens: The time between the Skill Check warning sound and the Skill Check shortens. 5 Tokens: No Skill Check Warning. The Hex effects last as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.
- Tinkerer (The Hillbilly) –When any generator is repaired to 70% progress, you will be alerted by a loud noise and the Undetectable status effect for the next 16 seconds. This perk has a limit of one activation per generator.
- Merciless Storm (The Onryō) –When a generator reaches 90% progress, survivors working on it will face continued Skill Checks. If they miss or stop repairing, the Entity blocks the generator for 20 seconds.
Best Freddy Add-ons
