Is Ford Fusion available in manual transmission? ›

The Fusion was the first production car to feature the "new face of Ford" three-bar grille. The Fusion was available in S, SE, and SEL trims. The base engine was the 160 hp (119 kW) Mazda-designed 2.3 L Duratec 23 I4, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission, both also designed by Mazda.

In the time we have been taking Fusion cases, we have become aware of the following alarming issues with models Fusion models 2010 through 2016: Jerking, shuddering, or jolting when shifting gears. RPM malfunctions. Electrical malfunctions.

What led to the manual transmission's demise? As the torque wars wage on, engine output surpassed the capability of manual-transmission clutches. GM dropped the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra's manual transmission by 2008, followed by Ford for the 2011 Super Duties and then Ram HDs for the 2019 model year.
